Snowmageddon
My youngest son loves the snow. He loves to sled down the hill in our front yard.
He loves to slide down the slide in the backyard into a mound of snow at the bottom.
He loves to build snowmen. And he loves to make snow angels.
I'm not sure I know anyone who loves to shovel snow off the driveway, though.
Yet, this is what we saw when we were watching our son while he was playing outside during Snowmageddon last week.
Without being asked, he started shoveling the driveway. When asked later why he had done it, Kaden responded, "Well, I was a little bored, but I wanted to stay outside in the snow so I figured I'd help Dad out."
Kaden was living out Galatians 6:10 -- "Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone — especially to those in the family of faith." (NLT)
This week I want to strive to be more like my 9-year-old. I plan to keep my eyes open for opportunities to serve others.
