Hi.

I crave strong, hot coffee and perfectly browned toast, but life often interferes. I choose to search for the beauty and humor in the chaos.

I Need All of You!

I Need All of You!

My 9-year-old loves to play Disney Infinity on the WiiU. The game lets you play as Disney characters in different "worlds." It's funny because he talks constantly during the game if anyone is in the room.

I walked in the sunroom to print something while he was playing. He was playing as Hulk -- running around smashing things. All of a sudden, he jumped out of his seat, saying, "I need to change characters quickly so I can fly."

Wouldn't it be great if we could do that?

I need to be organized in order to get this project done on time, but I'm no good at organization. I know! I'll become my friend so I can be organized for a little while. She's always organized!

I need to be honest but loving so that I can confront my co-worker in something she did wrong . . . but I hate confrontation. I know! I'll become my sister long enough to deal with this confrontation. She can correct anyone and remain friends with them.

Fortunately, we don't have to just wish we were all playing a Disney Infinity game, swapping out characters when we need different skills and strengths; this is the way the body of Christ works.

Romans 12:4-6 says, "Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well..." (‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭4-6‬ NLT)

We don't have to be good at everything. Did I hear your sigh of relief?

We do need to be connected to a local church -- a body of believers that we can serve with our gifts and talents, and be served with their collective gifts and talents.

I am so thankful for our church, Dan River Church! I'm thankful that I can rely on others as they rely on me.

Happy Valentine's Day!
