Hi.

I crave strong, hot coffee and perfectly browned toast, but life often interferes. I choose to search for the beauty and humor in the chaos.

Crazy Hair, Part 2

Crazy Hair, Part 2

My oldest son just returned from Episode 15 -- a weekend filled with fun, music, and messages geared toward students in grades 6-12.

One of many churches in attendance, Dan River Church was assigned to be the green team. Instead of wearing green clothes or a green hat, Josiah chose to support his team this way:

Green hair (Please don't ask what the attraction is to different shades of green hair in my house. Maybe it's in the water.)

Josiah didn't want anyone at Episode to wonder what team he was on.

He wanted people to know he was part of the green team from across the room.

Even if he was under a black light, he wanted other students to know he represented the green team.

I admire his commitment to his team.

Galatians‬ ‭2‬:‭20‬ says, "My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me . . ." (‭NLT)

When we become followers of Christ, we put away our former selves -- our desires, our habits, our very nature. Christ lives in us so we identify ourselves with Him -- His desires, His habits, His very nature.

As a Christian, I don't want anyone to wonder Whose team I'm on.

I want people to know Who I belong to from across the room.

I want others to know, at all times, that I represent Christ.

I'm just grateful that I don't have to dye my hair green to show it.
